Davide Bazzali

Chef & Tenor

Davide Bazzali was born in Pontremoli, Tuscany, near Lucca, the hometown of Giacomo Puccini. He spent his informative years in Parma, the city of Giuseppe Verdi. He studied at the Alberghiero di Salsomaggiore and at the age of nineteen began his career as a chef. Since then, Bazzali has traveled internationally, exporting his passion and experience in Italian cuisine.
He has studied theater and voice, and has worked with several musical and theatrical groups in both Canada and Italy. Bazzali enjoys working in several musical genres, blending lyrical voice techniques with International repertoires. He is the founder of the band OperaBazzali, a re-imagination of lyrical music recomposed with world rhythms.
In 2010 he was awarded a Prélude scholarship for his theatrical project, Bel Canto, financed by Cirque du Soleil, the Conseil des Arts de Montréal and La Tohu.
Bazzali’s company CuisineOpera is an amalgamation of his two passions; Italian cuisine and lyrical voice technique.


Benoît Leclere

After attending the prestigious 'Lycée Albert De Mun' in Paris, Leclere worked for several years in various renowned institutions in the French capital. He then spent 18 months in the United States, where he perfected his culinary skills under Chef Paul Bocuse.
Upon returning to France, he was Chef at the hotel and restaurant “Hotel Printania“ on the seafront of the beautiful Emerald Coast in Brittany, France.
His curiosity and desire for travel lead him to Montreal, Quebec. Here he worked as head Chef under Giovanni Appollo and as head chef at ‘Joverse’ in the Old Port.
A meeting of minds and creativity sparked the partnership between Leclere and Davide Bazzali. Both lending their diverse cultural and culinary backgrounds, Leclere and Bazzali are a passionate duo intent on satisfying both the palette and the ear.


Manuel Blais

Pianist & Baritone

A celebrated Baritone on the Quebec lyrical scene, Manuel Blais impresses with his vocal strength and commanding interpretation of operatic roles.
Manuel Blais has appeared as a soloist with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, the Orchestre Symphonique des Jeunes de Montréal, I Musici de Montréal, the Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières, the Société Philharmonique de Montréal, Orchestre Symphonique de Québec and the L’Ensemble Millénia.
He has performed over twenty operatic roles on the international stage. To name a few; Escamillo in 'Carmen', Germont in 'La Traviata', Figaro and the Count in 'Nozze di Figaro', Papageno in 'Die Zauberflöte', Four Villains in 'Les Contes d'Hoffmann' and Zurga in 'Les Pêcheurs de Perles'. He has performed in Italy, Germany, Israel, Canada, the US and France.


Kate Puxley

Originally from Edmonton, Kate Puxley has since lived in Toronto, Ottawa, Rome, and Montreal. From a young age, this 'gourmand' has immersed herself in the arts and is now recognized as a formidable performer, specializing in jazz, operettas and musicals. Also a painter and sculptor of great talent, she is currently completing her Masters in Fine Arts at Concordia University.
